More than 100 furry friends gathered for the second annual Howl-O-Ween Spooky Pooch Parade and costume contest on October 31, 2009, at The Wharf in Orange Beach.

People and their costumed pets (including Oliver the piglet) from Pensacola, Slidell, Birmingham and all points in-between supported the fundraiser for the Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!).

Crowd applause and judge Ellen Fiel, Ms Senior Baldwin County, determined the Howl-O-Ween contest winners:

Best Trick –- Luci the “Uptown Girl”, a She-Poo, did a head stand in her bag. Owners are Abigail and AJ Macaro of Fairhope.

Best Kisser -– Aubri, a Boxer disguised as a French Maid, jumped in the arms then kissed Kristin Wong of Orange Beach.

Tiniest Terror –- Sweet Pea, a Chorkie dressed in matching candy corn witch costume with her owner Anna Stewart of Fairhope.

Greatest Ghoul was Dayla, an English Mastiff dressed as a fairy, with Kristyn Capell of Birmingham.

Best Pet/Owner Look-A-Likes was French Bulldog Yoda and English Bulldog Diesel dressed in Hawaiian outfits just like owner Teri Beverly of Foley.

Most Spooktacular was Deuce, a Collie dressed in hand-made Harley Davidson chaps and vest, with owner Debi Munsey of Robertsdale.

The fundraiser concluded with the Spooky Pooch Parade led by the Most Spooktacular around the stores at The Wharf.
