The Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!) is hosting the second annual Howl-O-Ween Spooky Pooch Parade on October 31, 2009, at The Wharf in Orange Beach.

Registration starts at 10:00 am for the best trick and costume contests (its free to participate). Raffle tickets are a $3 donation (or 2 for $5) for vendor prizes; all proceeds go to BARC!

The Emerald Coast’s Foremost Pet Psychic, Sarah Christopher, will do ten-minute intuitive readings for pets and people for $10.

“Pre-Furred” vendor booths for pet reflexology, pet sitting, groomers, training, pet portraits and pet foods will be open at Palm Plaza next to the Ferris Wheel.

BARC! will hold a pet adoption and rabies/microchip clinic by Dr Lee Ann McGill from Magnolia Small Animal Clinic. Rabies shots $10 and microchips $25.

The NW Florida Great Dane Rescue and Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue will be present.

At 11:00 am the Best Trick Contest will be conducted by Hillary Ducote, Accredited PetSmart Trainer. Prize is a PetSmart gift basket valued at $200.

At 11:30 am the costume contests will be conducted by American Kennel Club Evaluator Deneen Balistere and judged by Ms. Senior Baldwin, Ellen Feil.

The Tiniest Terror (smallest dog) prize is a custom-made bone-shaped dog bed from My Celtic Dream valued at $50.

The Greatest Ghoul (biggest dog) will win a three day board and train program from Good Dog K9 Training valued at $200.

Best Kisser will win an Avon basket valued at $75.

The winner of Best Pet/Owner Look-A-Like will get a sunset beach portrait session from Wowza! Photography valued at $150.

At noon the “Most Spooktacular” costume will lead the Spooky Pooch Parade around the stores at The Wharf.
